I seldom have a review that can't find one good thing to say about a meal. This is the exception. In fact, I was so disgusted, I simply threw the majority of the meal in the trash. My husband, after working 12 hours, was hungry enough to eat part of it. We picked up the meal. The portions were small, but expensive. $75.00 for dinner for two. One was stuffed rigatoni, which came with unseasoned strips of grilled chicken. Is this a common Italian meal. Not one I've ever heard of. No sauce, no seasoning on the chicken. I thought it tasted like nothing but the grilled marks on it, husband thought it wasn't bad. The Rigatoni was not the tubes stuffed with ricotta cheese that I expected but overcooked soggy pasta with a thin spreading of cheese inside and pressed down to seal. Clearly previously frozen. The sauce was similar to Ragu, with too much basil flavor. My husband chose Chicken Francaise, which was more dreadful, if possible. The chicken appeared to not have been fried after being battered with egg and flour so it had a gluey coating, grayish in appearance. The linguine was overcooked and starchy, and the buttery sauce was instead a gluey slop from the uncooked egg batter and sta

Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a pre-fix luncheon for 18. Lena handled our event as promised, everything from wait staff, food, service and atmosphere was perfect. Our guests really enjoyed our event and would highly recommend! Also, even with champagne provided for everyone, not nearly as expensive as we thought it would be.

If you are looking for an authentic Italian experience in Ocean County, Villa Amalfi in Toms River is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the stage for a fantastic meal. We started things off with their warm, crusty bread and the crab-stuffed mushrooms, which were a total standout. The mushrooms were packed with flavor and served over a unique bed of apple slicesβ€”the sweetness of the apple paired perfectly with the savory crab. It’s those small, creative things that really elevate a starter from good to great. For the main course, the quality remained top-tier. The gnocchi and sausage dish was a masterclass in texture; the gnocchi were light and airy, coated in a pesto and topped with just the right amount of cheese and savory sausage. The crab-stuffed shrimp was equally impressive. The shrimp were jumbo, perfectly cooked, and served alongside a rich, creamy risotto that tied the whole plate together. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in using fresh ingredients and traditional techniques. The service really put the experience over the top. Both our primary server and the assistant were attentive, professional, and made sure we had everything we need

The osso bucco was very well prepared and perfectly tender with a rich saffron risotto. The veal with mushrooms was prepared quite well too portions are plentiful and they were very accommodating to a vegan in out party. Gnocchi was soft and tender and plentiful as well.

I have been coming here for many years and it’s still my favorite restaurant in the area! Not a BYOB but food, service and atmosphere top shelf. I have lunch here recently with some of my β€œboys” from the old neighborhood and we all were impressed with our meal. We had the Baked Grouper wrapped in Zucchini special and Zuppa di Pesce over angle hair, they called it something else. The one recommendation that I would like to make to the owner is to update your website if you’re not going to offer your price fix menu in December!
